Four individuals from York County, South Carolina, have been sentenced to federal prison for their involvement in a drug trafficking conspiracy involving fentanyl and methamphetamine. Cory Martin, 32, Travis Queen, 33, both of Rock Hill; Brandon Ramsey, 23, of Clover; and Wesley Huffstetler, 31, of York were found guilty for their roles in the operation. Ashley Daniels, 34, another member of the group, is awaiting sentencing.
The investigation was led by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives along with the York County Multijurisdictional Drug Enforcement Unit. Authorities identified Martin as the leader of the conspiracy through evidence gathered during their probe. Multiple witnesses confirmed that Martin coordinated drug sales using confidential sources to arrange purchases of methamphetamine and fentanyl. He then directed Ramsey to deliver these drugs. Huffstetler’s residence served as a storage site for shipments of methamphetamine. Law enforcement intercepted over 3.7 pounds of methamphetamine sent to Huffstetler’s house.
All four men were arrested on state charges stemming from this investigation. While in custody, Martin communicated with Daniels instructing her to collect fentanyl and methamphetamine from his home. Queen also contacted Daniels with directions about which drugs should be kept or sold. Law enforcement intercepted these communications and later discovered methamphetamine and fentanyl pills at Daniels’ property.
Authorities attributed more than 26 pounds of methamphetamine and over 22 pounds of fentanyl to this drug ring.
After being indicted on federal charges and detained, Martin participated in submitting false letters to court officials attempting to mislead them regarding his role in the conspiracy. As a result, he faced an additional charge for contempt of court.
Martin pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute fentanyl, distribution of fentanyl and methamphetamine, as well as contempt of court. Ramsey, Daniels, and Queen pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute both substances while Huffstetler admitted guilt for conspiracy related only to methamphetamine distribution.
United States District Judge Sherri A. Lydon sentenced Martin to serve 276 months in prison followed by three years supervised release. Queen received a sentence of 125 months plus three years supervised release; Ramsey was sentenced to 96 months with three years supervised release; Huffstetler received a sentence totaling 90 months plus three years supervised release. Ashley Daniels has not yet been sentenced.
There is no parole available under federal law.
The case continues under prosecution by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lamar J. Fyall.
