A Summerville man has been arrested on 23 charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor, according to an announcement from South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson. Kenneth Charles Lundstrom, 37, was taken into custody by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Summerville Police Department. The investigation also included assistance from the Attorney General’s Office, Goose Creek Police Department, and Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, all members of the state’s ICAC Task Force.
The investigation began after a CyberTipline report was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which identified Lundstrom as a suspect. Investigators allege that Lundstrom distributed and possessed files of child sexual abuse material.
Lundstrom was arrested on August 13, 2025. He faces 16 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree and seven counts in the third degree. Each charge is a felony offense punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment.
Authorities noted that Lundstrom had previously been convicted on similar charges in 2022.
The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
Attorney General Wilson stated, “all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.”
* Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is used to describe these crimes because “pornography” can imply consent by minors; globally, CSAM is replacing the term child pornography for this reason.
