South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has expressed his support for the House Judiciary Committee’s decision to advance H.4759, a bill that introduces new regulations on intoxicating hemp-derived beverages.
In a statement released after the committee’s action, Wilson said, “I applaud the House Judiciary Committee for advancing H.4759 to the floor of the House of Representatives. This bill provides clear, regulated guardrails to ensure our state’s children are not able to access intoxicating hemp-derived beverages.”
The move follows Attorney General Wilson’s December 2025 announcement of “Operation Ganjapreneur,” a statewide initiative that led to 12 arrests and the confiscation of more than 30,000 pounds of products.
