South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has expressed support for the recent passage of H.4756, known as the Student Physical Privacy Act, in the South Carolina House of Representatives.

In a statement released after the vote, Wilson said, “I applaud the House of Representatives for prioritizing the safety and well-being of women and girls in South Carolina. The passage of the Student Physical Privacy Act today is a great step forward.”

Wilson highlighted his ongoing efforts to protect related measures through legal channels. “As Attorney General, I have fought to protect previous provisos on this matter in multiple courts. And as a father of a teenage daughter, I will always work to defend the rights of women and girls across our state to feel safe in their dedicated private spaces. I look forward to the Senate finishing the job and sending this bill to the Governor’s desk,” he added.

The legislation now moves to the South Carolina Senate for further consideration.
