South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has announced the arrest of Klaus Meierdierks, 42, from Simpsonville, South Carolina. Meierdierks faces four charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor. The arrest was carried out by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators from the Attorney General’s Office, with assistance from the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office.
The investigation began after a CyberTipline report was received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). According to investigators, Meierdierks produced child sexual abuse material.
Meierdierks was taken into custody on November 14, 2025. He is charged with four counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor under South Carolina law (§16-15-395), which is classified as a felony. Each count carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
The Attorney General’s Office will prosecute this case.
Attorney General Wilson emphasized that all defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in court.
“Child sexual abuse material, or CSAM, is a more accurate reflection of the material involved in these heinous and abusive crimes. ‘Pornography’ can imply the child was a consenting participant. Globally, the term child pornography is being replaced by CSAM for this reason,” according to an explanation provided in the announcement.
