A Greenville man has been arrested on charges related to the production of child sexual abuse material, according to an announcement from South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson. Deangelo Rashawn Martin, 21, was taken into custody by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office. The Attorney General’s Office, also part of the state’s ICAC Task Force, assisted in the investigation.
The arrest followed a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which led authorities to Martin. Investigators allege that Martin produced child sexual abuse material.
Martin was arrested on November 19, 2025. He faces two counts of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor under state law (§16-15-395). Each count is a felony and carries a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison.
The Attorney General’s Office will prosecute the case.
Attorney General Wilson stated: “All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.”
Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is now used as a more accurate term for these crimes instead of “child pornography,” as the latter can imply consent by minors. Internationally, there is a shift toward using CSAM to describe such offenses.
