South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson has announced the arrest of three Cherokee County men on charges related to the sexual exploitation of a minor. The arrests were made by investigators from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force within the Attorney General’s Office, with assistance from the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, also a member of the state’s ICAC Task Force.
The individuals arrested are Victor Hugo Lara Rosaldo, 35, and Caleb Tyler Patterson, 31, both of Gaffney, S.C., and Timothy David Anderson, 58, of Chesnee, S.C. The cases are unrelated.
According to investigators, CyberTipline reports from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led them to these individuals. Authorities stated that Rosaldo and Anderson distributed files containing child sexual abuse material (CSAM), while Patterson possessed and distributed such files.
Rosaldo was taken into custody on July 29, 2025. He faces three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree (§16-15-405), each carrying a potential penalty of up to 10 years in prison.
Patterson was also arrested on July 29, 2025. He is charged with three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree (§16-15-405) and two counts in the third degree (§16-15-410). Each charge carries a possible sentence of up to 10 years imprisonment.
Anderson was arrested on July 30, 2025. He faces one count of sexual exploitation of a minor in the second degree (§16-15-405), which is punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment.
All three cases will be prosecuted by the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.
Attorney General Wilson stated: “All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until they are proven guilty in a court of law.”
The press release also noted that child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is now used as a more accurate term than “child pornography,” since “pornography” can imply consent where there is none. The global trend is toward using CSAM for clarity about these crimes.
